Zero Trust

A security framework that requires strict identity verification for every person and device attempting to access resources, regardless of whether they are inside or outside the network.

Zero Trust is a security model built on the principle “never trust, always verify.” Unlike traditional perimeter-based security (which trusts everything inside the network), Zero Trust assumes that threats can come from anywhere, including inside the network.

Every access request is fully authenticated, authorized, and encrypted before access is granted, regardless of the requester’s location. Key components include strong identity verification, device health checks, least-privilege access, micro-segmentation, and continuous monitoring.

For teams, Zero Trust means that having a VPN connection or being on the office network doesn’t automatically grant access to resources. Each access request requires verification, and credentials must be strong and unique. A team password manager is a foundational tool in implementing Zero Trust for credential management.
