Greetings to the Jungle Disk blog audience! As you’ve already heard, my company TeamPassword has been acquired by Jungle Disk, and as of the beginning of March, I’ve joined the Jungle Disk team. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and give a bit of background on myself and the company.
My interest in password management, surprisingly, started at a young age. When I was a teenager, I was a participant in many security focused forums. One day I woke up to a surprise - someone had hacked the forum, posting everyone’s passwords in plain text. I was shocked to see my password right in front of me, and, I realized at that moment that I was using that same password all over the place. That started my journey to use unique, random passwords everywhere—which lead me to start using password managers.
After I solved the problem for myself, I then went on to work at several companies where password management was an issue. Joining a company as a product manager, I became the de facto password manager, responsible for finding tools for the team to use, creating accounts, and then forever answering the question “what’s the password to X?”
This all came to a head when there was a startup weekend event in Baltimore—I knew I wanted to go and do something, and thinking for a few minutes about what problem I wanted to solve, password management quickly came to mind. I grabbed the domain “TeamPassword.com” the Thursday before the event (it was available!) and the rest was history.
I’m really excited to join the Jungle Disk team both to provide a password management solution to the quickly growing and evolving data security suite of tools as well as lending my experience to the rest of the team.
If you haven’t taken a look yet, I’d love for you to see if TeamPassword could help solve some of the password management issues in your business.
